TWO teenagers were assaulted and robbed by a gang of 15 youths in Oldham.
The 15 and 17-year-old victims were walking along Glodwick Road towards Abbeyhills Road when they were approached by the group of Asian teenagers.
One of them hit the 15-year-old in the face before a number of the group punched and kicked him to the floor.
The 17-year-old ran off before he returned to look for his friend. He was punched in the face by three members of the group before they left.
The attack continued on the 15-year-old until the victim’s jacket and trousers were searched. They stole his ipod before they walked off and the victim ran off to report the attack to police.
Both teenagers suffered facial injuries in the attack at 10pm on Saturday, February 4.
The group were aged between 15 and 17 and were wearing dark clothing.
PC Craig Rice, from the Volume Crime Team, said: “This was an unprovoked and sustained attack on two teenagers that has left them shocked but, thankfully, not seriously injured.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have walked or driven past the area at the time of the incident or who may have seen a large group of teenagers hanging around Glodwick Road to contact police.”
Anyone with information should phone police on 0161-856 9577 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555 111.
