OLDHAM’s safeguarding and looked-after children’s service has received a glowing Ofsted report.
An inspection judged the service as “Good” with many outstanding features, as well as an “outstanding capacity to improve” — meaning the service significantly exceeded minimum requirements.
It puts Oldham among a small number of the highest performing authorities for children’s services.
The inspection is an evaluation of the contribution made towards ensuring children are properly safeguarded, and a judgment of the quality of services for its most vulnerable young people.
It comes just months after Oldham Council’s children’s services team was awarded the top grade of “performing excellently” by Ofsted — for the second year running.
