A “CORONATION Street” star has been inspired by a young Royton girl battling leukaemia.
Ryan Thomas, who plays Jason Grimshaw in the soap, was a VIP guest at Royton Band Club for a charity family night.
The main star of the sold-out event was brave Maisie Whitworth (4) who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia two years ago.
Dad, Ian Whitworth, said: “The night was amazing and when we have finished collecting the money, we hope to have raised £4,500 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. Ryan was such a nice lad. He spent around 90 minutes with us and was moved by what Maisie has had to go through.”
Maisie will join former England cricket star Sir Ian Botham in April at Tatton Park for the Manchester leg of his enduring Great British walk.
