A HAT-TRICK of local organisations have teamed up to create a new Oldham business club.
The Owl Business Club, formed by Peninsula Business Services, Oldham Athletic Football Club and Owl Marketing, will help promote and market the businesses and people of Oldham.
The club will hold both breakfast and evening meetings to provide flexibility on attendance. The format is designed to suit all types of business regardless of sector or size, there will be no formal referral system and no pressure. Members will be able to hold short presentations responding to members’ concerns, new industry legislation and new opportunities.
Ciaron Fitzpatrick, from Peninsula Business Services, said: “We have researched the market and feel that the Owl Business Club offers something new for local businesses. It is outward-looking and reactive, with a fluid model that allows us to adapt to the marketplace and needs of the members.”
Neil Joy, chief executive of Oldham Athletic, said: “We are all for supporting new business opportunities and see the Owl Business Club as an extension of the football club’s services, a way to bring local business people together and to promote the town and its people to a wider audience.”
The club will also organise events throughout the year — the first a golf day, followed by a ladies evening building up to a summer ball in 2013.
A free launch event takes place on Tuesday, March 27, at 6.30pm and includes a ticket to the Latics match against Leyton Orient. Places are limited and booking is essential.
The launch will be an informal gathering with an introduction to the key benefits of membership of the Owl Business Club. Visit www.owlbusinessclub.co.uk for details.
