A COUNCIL service designed to help residents return to independent living after illness or disability has received glowing feedback on its first anniversary.
There was nearly 100 per cent positive feedback from users of Oldham Council’s “reablement” service.
Based in Whitney Court, its mission is to help adults to lead more independent lives after illness or disability.
Since opening last April, staff have assisted 462 people. At the end of their support period each person completes an assessment form — and so far 98 per cent of users have given glowing reports, many following this with a thank you letter
A celebration event for those who have received support will be held later this spring.
If you have been helped by the service or have a relative or friend who has, contact diane.taylor@oldham.gov.uk for celebration information.
