Drivers diverted
Date published: 12 March 2012
WORK is well under way for the new road straight through Mumps roundabout.
Drivers will be diverted for three weeks as the junction of Huddersfield Road with Mumps is closed.
During this time, traffic approaching Oldham via Huddersfield Road will travel along Cross Street and Lees Road and onwards to Oldham Way.
This is part of the on-going work for traffic-signalled link roads to replace the historic roundabout — as the site moves towards becoming the nucleus for Metrolink in Oldham — accommodating the future tram station, integrated Park and Ride, and bus facilities.
