OLDHAM youngsters took to the red carpet and received their own Oscars and framed certificates .
The 17 girls, aged between 11 and 16, from Robin Hill Youth Centre, Coldhurst, and Failsworth Youth Centre, enjoyed the premiere of their very own film at Manchester’s Cornerhouse cinema.
They created an animation called “Mind Image: Living with Ana” after scooping £5,000 lottery funding to work alongside professional film-makers.
Their film tackled eating disorders through an imaginative script.
The group was awarded the funding by First Light, through the Young Film Fund, The Big Lottery Fund and Arts Council England, for the Tell Us Another One project co-ordinated by Cartwheel Arts, a community arts charity in Heywood.
The film will now be taken around the young film festival circuit.
