SIX people have been arrested after police seized cash and class A drugs as part of a crackdown on organised crime.

Oldham Division’s Operation Caminada team made the seizures on Monday following raids on four properties in the Oldham East and Shaw areas.

As part of the latest enforcement tactic by the team against organised crime, officers seized Class A and B drugs with a street value of £5,000, £500 in cash and drug paraphernalia. Around 30 officers from across the force were involved in the raids.

Insp Paul Walker, from the Operation Caminada team, said: “As we continue with this operation we are sending a clear message to those committing crime that their actions won’t be tolerated and we will take action.

“Anyone who is concerned about drug dealing in their area is asked to get in contact with police on our new national non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Of those arrested, a 22-year-old man and a 20-year-old man have been charged with possession of Class A and B drugs with intent to supply.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of class B drugs with intent to supply, theft and a firearms-related offence in relation to a previous incident and was bailed until May 10 pending further inquiries.

A 43-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of class B drugs with intent to supply and theft. She was bailed until May 10.
