Salon’s terror raid
Date published: 20 March 2012
ROBBERS with crowbars demanded car keys and cash from shocked staff and a terrified customer at a Royton salon.
Masked men burst into Absolute Bliss, Rochdale Road, swiping money from the till and a set of car keys for a grey BMW Z4, registration B7 ALM. The two thugs wore dark clothing and balaclavas.
The first man, with the crowbar, is about 6ft tall, of stocky build and spoke with a local accent. His accomplice, also described as stocky, was much shorter — about 5ft 3in tall.
The incident happened at 7.40pm on Thursday.
Detective Constable Mike Hayman said: “Nobody was hurt but the victims were left shaken. We will thoroughly investigate this robbery until the offenders are caught.
“Rochdale Road is busy so we would ask that any witnesses call us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 8951 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
