Anyone for coffee? Jocelyn and her Smart-based business
A FORMER barrister made redundant by Greater Manchester Police last year has set up in business - selling coffee.
Jocelyn Robinson, who lived in Greenfield for 20 years before moving to Yorkshire, has invested her redundancy funds in Go Go Gaggia, a mobile coffee business.
The 26 year old approached coffee machine company Gaggia UK in Halifax with her idea.
“They supported me from the first meeting,” said Jocelyn, who bought a machine and had her car adapted.
Her plan now is to find more sites — she currently operates at train stations, building sites and business parks close to her Slaithwaite home.
She added: “I have already had interest from Hounslow, Wakefield and even from the USA for franchises.”
Jocelyn, who had a specialist role at Chadderton Police Station, worked as a barrister for four years after qualifying in Manchester.
“I was offered posts in the city centre, but the travelling didn’t really appeal,” she explained. “I haven’t given up on my legal career, but I do enjoy working for myself.”
