Dieting on a different scale

A HAIRDRESSER who has struggled to put on weight since secondary school is set to expose his extreme eating habits in front of millions.

Nathan Smith (21) weighed in at an “unhealthy” eight-and-a-half stone when he was laid bare for Channel 4 show “Supersize vs Superskinny”.

The Chadderton crimper swapped his normal packet pastas for calorie-busting burgers and pizzas to sample a day in the life of a “supersize” man.

He said: “I have always been skinny but never went to the gym or anything. I would eat quick, easy meals, like pasta in a packet, that sort of thing. I would have breakfast, but sometimes, not intentionally, I would skip meals.”

During the show, the Solace Hair Salon, Chadderton worker got advice from presenter and doctor Christian Jessen.

“I had to eat what Chris ate on the first day of the clinic and it was awful — loads of fast food and pizzas.”

Nathan has put on 3lbs since filming stopped in January, and has worked hard on his body mass — producing an extra inch on his arms and chest. The programme will be shown on April 2.
