Drop the bill: Oldham East and Saddleworth MP Debbie Abrahams joins shadow health secretary Andy Burnham to hand in a petition at the Department of Health
A PETITION urging the Government to scrap new health reforms was handed to the Department of Health by Oldham East and Saddleworth MP Debbie Abrahams.
She joined forces with shadow health secretary Andy Burnham to hand over the Drop the Bill protest petition, with 475 local names. They names will be added to tens of thousands on the Drop the Bill online campaign.
Mrs Abrahams said: “The Government’s proposed Health and Social Care Bill affects us all. The North-West has lost 1,298 nurses since the general election and the Government’s proposed Health and Social Care Bill will cost the North-West alone £40m if it isn’t stopped from going through.”
