NHS staff seek a shot in the arm

STAFF at Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust are among the unhappiest in the country.
The majority of the trust’s employees — which includes the Royal Oldham Hospital — would not recommend it as a place to work or for someone to receive treatment, according to a Department of Health poll.
The gloomy findings ranked staff motivation and engagement among the worst 20 per cent of all acute trusts.
Roger Pickering, director of human resources at the trust, said: “I am disappointed we have slipped back after making real improvements over the past two years.
“The impact on staff has undoubtedly been significant and we know this has had a disruptive effect with changes in working patterns and relocations.”
