Uncertain future for Avro FC
Date published: 23 March 2012
AVRO Football Club _ which has played on the Lancaster Club site since the Second World War, has revealed an ununcertain future following the announcement of redevelopment plans.
AVRO, founded by employees of the historic Chadderton aviation factory, could have to move more than two miles away to Limeside Village to stay alive.
Chairman Robert Fuller said the possible move to a vacant site in Limeside “has potential”.
“We would not find anywhere else and we want one site that accommodates the club,” he said.
“We have always said as a club, we just want certainty to move forward and at the moment it’s still up in the air.”
