Chris’s final farewell

THE funeral of Chris McManus, the hostage murdered by terrorists in Nigeria, took place this morning.

The 28-year-old from Royton had been working abroad alongside colleague Franco Lamolinara, when they were kidnapped from an apartment in Birnin-Kebbi. They were killed during a rescue mission by British special forces.

Hundreds were expected to attend the service, at St Mary’s with St Patrick’s RC Church, Oldham at 10.30am.
