Shock at Game closure

STAFF at Game Oldham were not expecting the closure of their Spindles store this week.
The computer game specialist has gone into administration, with more than 2,100 staff made redundant across the country.
The manager of the town-centre store said on Game Oldham’s Facebook page: “We weren’t really expecting it, but who is? I, the manager and the staff would like to thank all our lovely customers for the past few years. We’ve had some amazing launches and great Christmases, so thank-you for everything — it’s been a blast.”
The Gamestation store, on Henshaw Street, will stay open as usual as administrators try to find a purchaser for the business.
Mike Jervis, joint administrator and partner at PwC, said: “Our priority is to continue trading as normal while we continue to pursue a sale.“
