Move to school heralds new start for Saddleworth Show
A NEW dawn has been toasted by Saddleworth Show organisers.
The organisers have secured Saddleworth School, Uppermill as the venue for the charity event on June 9 and 10 — it had been thoght the event might be canceled because of drainage work at the usual venue, Churchill playing fields in Greenfield.
The change to the school grounds means the event will now cover two days rather than one.
For the first time, members of Saddleworth School’s student council will be playing an active role.
Despite a torrential downpour last year, the show managed to raise more than £17,000 for local and rotary charities. For prices, times and attractions visit the official website at: www.saddleworthshow.org.uk
