Friends rally round to make stricken pal’s dying wish a reality
CARING friends and family are raising the funds brave skin-cancer victim Charlie Jones so desperately needs to fulfil a dying wish and marry his beloved Louise.
Charlie made national headlines after becoming the first skin-cancer sufferer to test a new drug, Vemurafenib, designed to improve the life of those with the disease.
He was offered the drug after being told he had only hours to live.
Though taking the drug has helped Charlie (24) feel more like his old self, it’s not a cure.
His older brother, Gareth (26), and best friends, Steve Patterson and George Mills, have set about raising money to make sure Charlie, of Holts, can marry his girlfriend Louise Howard.
They have organised an all-day charity event on Saturday, April 7.
To find out more about the event, contact Gareth on 07842-302 062 or George on 07824-336 704.
