Boy’s ‘teacher had done it to everyone’ claim
Date published: 29 March 2012
ONE OF seven young boys who alleges he was sexually touched by a teacher at school, told a court he didn’t make much of the incident at the time.
The boy, who like the others cannot be named for legal reasons, says 25-year-old Neil Carr put his hand on his crotch during an after-school activities club session.
The boy initially told police that Mr Carr, described as a well-liked and respected teacher, had “done it to everyone”.
But under cross-examination at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court he admitted he had not been told of other youngsters being touched in a similar manner, nor had he seen any other youngster being inappropriately touched.
Asked by Marsha Myers defending, why he had made the remark, he said: “Because he did it to me, I thought he had done it to others.”
Carr who has maintained his innocence throughout, pleads not guilty to 20 separate offences of sexual activity with a child.
