NO deal: Terry McNicholas
THE owner of Royton Health Centre has rubbished £22.5million development plans for the town — because they include land he is refusing to sell.
Local developer Terry McNicholas bought the former health centre and car park 10 months ago — and has no intention of selling up for the £1million offered.
Next week he will submit his own planning application for his site.
He said: “Dransfield put this big exhibition. It all looks very nice but it’s total nonsense. They don’t own part of the site they have included in their plans and I’m not prepared to sell it.
Amanda Holmes, head of communications for Dransfield, said: “[Mr McNicholas] agreed to sell his land. He pulled out of the deal at the last minute and unfortunately now seems keen to try and obstruct the regeneration of Royton centre.”
