Green-fingered class is growing all the time

ECO-FRIENDLY pupils at a Shaw school took to planting by Royal appointment.
Children from Crompton Primary School joined forces with conservation charity the Woodland Trust to plant a native hedgerow and a Royal Oak sapling in the school grounds to mark the Queen’s Jubilee.
They were supported in their efforts by their mums, dads, grandmas, grandads and aunties, who turned up prepared with wellies and trowels to help the Year 1 class with their planting.
Year 1 pupils researched their species of trees, measured how much space they would need to plant them, looked at school plans and decided upon where to position their trees.
