Man had indecent pictures on computer

A ROYTON man will be sentenced later this month after admitting downloading indecent images of children.
Antony Parkinson (52), of Hanging Chadder Lane, pleaded guilty to 17 charges of making photographs of children and one charge of possessing 94 images of children when he appeared at Oldham Magistrates Court yesterday.
Magistrates heard how a Greater Manchester Police investigation team received intelligence from another force about a UK website containing 2,000 indecent images, which Parkinson had downloaded from.
Police executed a search warrant last September at Parkinson’s address where they seized his computer and USB stick, which contained easily-accessible images of child pornography. Defending, Michelle Mann, said: “The defendant is a 52-year-old man with no previous convictions.”
Parkinson was granted conditional bail after magistrates requested a full pre-sentence report to be ready by April 30, when he will expect to be sentenced.
