Governor rails over ‘dangerous’ barrier
Date published: 04 April 2012

Jenny Barker and railings damaged since December at St Anne's Royton.
A DANGEROUS barrier outside a school has been replaced thanks to intervention from the Oldham Chronicle.
St Anne’s School governor Jennifer Barker said she was sickened that the damaged railing, which had three sharp metal bars sticking out towards the pavement after a car accident in December, had not been replaced.
The grandmother-of-one said children at the Broadway, Royton, school were fearful that another car would plough through the twisted barrier and on to the pavement.
The Chronicle contacted the council and on Friday the barrier was removed and replaced on Monday.
