FULL results of the Greater Manchester School Games have now been revealed with Oldham youngsters doing the borough proud.
As reported in the Chronicle last week, in swimming, Diggle School took gold in the girl’s breast-stroke, as well as five silver medals and 17 bronze to finish fourth overall, losing out on third place by only one point.
Oldham was second in the boccia (Years 5/6 Learning Disability) — a sport involving throwing balls as close as possible to a target ball.
Crompton House School was second in water polo and third in the girls’ volleyball, with Broadfield Primary School taking silver in the gymnastics Years 1/2 team competition.
Other results show that Hathershaw finished second in the rugby union under-16s MLD (mild learning difficulties). Individually, Bradley Radcliffe, from Bluecoat, took gold in the Year 11 boys’ rowing.
