AN initiative which has given thousands of people the potential to save lives is celebrating an amazing decade.
Heartstart Oldham was launched in March, 2002, by Rotary Club Oldham and has since trained around 65,000 people in life support skills such as CPR, resuscitation and dealing with choking and serious bleeding.
During a celebration dinner at Smokies Park Hotel, Bardsley, Rotary Club of Oldham president Paul Vincent welcomed significant Heartstart volunteers.
Heartstart Oldham has delivered lifesaving training to hundreds of groups and organisations around the borough and have now extended the scheme to schools and sixth form college students.
The next training sessions are at Trinity Methodist Church, Radcliffe Street, Royton, on April 26, followed by courses in Shaw, Hathershaw, Hollinwood, Uppermill.
