Clint’s son loses locks in support of baby sister
THE superhero son of Oldham music icon Clint Boon has made a hair-raising amount of money in support of those caring for his seriously-ill baby sister.
Hector (five) endured his first-ever haircut in aid of St Mary’s Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit, in Manchester, where one-month-old Luna Bliss, who was born 13 weeks prematurely, is being cared for following an operation last Thursday for an underlying health problem.
Clint (52), the Inspiral Carpets keyboard player revealed the procedure went well for his “little fighter”, his sixth child.
The XFM DJ is also beaming with pride following Hector’s haircut.
The youngster, pictured in his Spiderman costume, saw his flowing locks cut into a mohawk in front of family and supporters on Saturday afternoon. He made more than £3,200 — and Clint says money is still rolling in.
Clint said: “He has totally embraced it all and we are so proud of him.”
Hector hopes to raise enough money to buy special nursing chairs which offer vital contact between parents and their preterm infants.
