OLDHAM’s “People’s Carnival” is on the road to success with sponsorship from a car dealership.
David Cook Motors has become the latest local business to support this year’s event after meeting carnival officials.
The car business, based in Middleton Road, Chadderton, has agreed to sponsor the Town Centre Fun Day taking place on Saturday, June 23.
A spokesperson for David Cook Motors said: “We are proud to be supporting the town’s community and, in particular, the People’s Carnival.
“It’s going to be great weekend and we’re glad to be part of it.”
Sponsorship from local business plays a big part in maintaining the quality of the carnival and helping to pay for key elements such as stages, lighting and sound systems.
An added bonus this year is the arrival of the Olympic Torch in Oldham on the Sunday morning at 10.30am.
