A MIDWIFE charged with manslaughter after a baby bled to death in Oldham following a circumcision is set to face a crown court trial.
Grace Adeleye (66), of Sarnia Court, Salford, appeared before a judge at Manchester Crown Square Crown Court yesterday, charged with the manslaughter of Goodluck Caubergs by gross negligence, on April 17, 2010.
No plea was taken by Adeleye, who was granted conditional bail and will appear next in the court for a plea and case-management hearing on July 20.
Adeleye hoped to visit family in Nigeria later this year, but a judge ordered her to surrender her passport by today. Her trial is set for November 26.
