WELCOME . . . the new library at Fittton Hill Neighbourhood Centre
STATE-of-the-art facilities and stylish decor are proving a big hit at Fitton Hill’s £2million neighbourhood centre.
Modern furniture and relaxing surroundings are providing a pleasant environment for visitors to browse books or use the latest equipment.
The venue also boasts a coffee bar, dance and activity room, arts and crafts area and a teen room for youngsters to watch films, play games and take part in activities.
Councillor Hugh McDonald hailed the Fircroft Road centre when it opened in February.
He said: “The new centre is a credit to the area and I hope as many local people as possible take advantage of this great facility which is now on their doorstep.”
The new library has also boosted learning potential with the installation of 16 public-access computers compared with six in the former Fir Tree Avenue building.
The youth centre is open on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights to offer a range of provision including senior and junior youth clubs and inter-generational projects.
