The Saddleworth Cricket league has put back the start of their season - due to start tomorrow.
The opening day programme was set to be a wash-out. The League's executive took the decision on Friday night that, in view of the amount of rain that had fallen during the week and the forecast of heavy showers over the weekend, no play was going to be possible.
They said that clubs would not have had a chance to work of preparing wickets and grounds for the Sunday games.
The League will now meet on Thursday to decide a new date for the opening-day fixtures.
The season will now start next weekend.
