Cha-cha-cha champions!

A TRIO of talented dancers made it look as easy as one, two, three after waltzing off with the top spots in a prestigious competition.
Amy Edwards, Olivia Ralph and Emily Atkinson, who all attend the Madd! for Dance group in Shaw, beat over 50 others to take first, second and third places at the IDTA Ballroom and Latin national championships in Blackpool.
The girls were put through their paces, completing five elimination rounds of two dances including the Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Paso Doble and Jive before a panel of judges.
The trio — all in the under-13s category — had a tense wait to make the final six before they were finally selected for the silverware.
Amy, who previously won the three to five years category as a youngster, attends St Mary’s School in Failsworth and was supported by her teachers at the event.
Her mum, Alison, praised Sean and Carole, who run the school for all their hard work over the season.
She said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Madd! for Dance — as well as the North-West because the south has dominated this competition for many years. To have three winners from the same dance school and for my daughter to come first in the hardest category was just amazing. Amy lives for dancing, she absolutely loves it.”
