Thieves target baby’s grave

A HEARTBROKEN mum has blasted thieves who stole toys and gifts from her baby son’s grave.
When Rachel Heywood went to visit the resting place of three-week-old Jack Turner, who died from cot death on Christmas Day, 2010, she discovered thugs had stolen his toys and mementoes.
Cars, pot dogs, a windmill and Easter eggs lovingly placed by family members on the tragic tot’s grave at Lees Cemetery had all vanished.
Rachel says the despicable act has left her and partner Paul Turner questioning humanity and she’s appealing for the items to be returned.
“There was a little red car stolen which is particularly sentimental, Paul put it on his grave,” said Rachel (21), of Abbeyhills Road, who is heavily pregnant with her second child.
“It’s just so disgusting for someone to do that.
“We buy little things to put on Jack’s grave because there’s nothing else we can do for him, it makes us feel better.
“These people are stupid and immature, I hope they read this and understand what they’ve done.”
