POLICE and Post Office officials have worked together to bring about the arrest of a 49-year-old man linked to electoral fraud in Coldhurst.
It is understood a postman delivering postal ballot papers in the area was followed and, following investigations, an arrest was made and a house searched.
A 49 year old was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud relating to electoral offences and released on bail pending further inquiries.
The Chronicle believes that no candidate in the local elections, due to go to the polls on Thursday, is linked to the alleged offences.
