Man avoids jail over indecent images of children

A 52-YEAR-OLD man who kept indecent images of children on his laptop escaped a jail term yesterday.
Antony Parkinson, of Hanging Chadder Lane, Royton, pleaded guilty to 17 charges of making photographs of children and one charge of possessing 94 images of children when he appeared at Oldham Magistrates’ Court earlier this month.
He was given a 36-month community order, 36-month supervision order and was told he must attend a sex offenders’ treatment programme.
Parkinson will also be listed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years.
