Bikers’ purple tribute to Joker friend
Date published: 04 May 2012
MORE than 40 motor-cyclists gathered to pay tribute to a friend fondly nicknamed “Joker”.
Traffic came to a standstill as members of the Road Wizards Motor-cycle Club followed the hearse — in which a large floral tribute spelled his nickname — of Peter Heney from, Clarksfield, a member of the Oldham group until his death on April 18, to his funeral at Hollinwood Crematorium yesterday.
Dozens more cars belonging to family and friends also made the touching journey.
Peter’s family requested that everyone should wear something purple — a reference to character “The Joker” in the Batman films, who wore a purple suit.
