Barbara tributes pour in

Tributes continue to flood in for Failsworth councillor Barbara Dawson, who lost her battle with cancer last week.
The 67-year-old mother of three and grandmother of six died at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice on April 26.
Her funeral will take place at Oldham Crematorium on Tuesday (1pm) followed by a memorial service at Failsworth Town Hall from 2.15pm.
An online Book of Condolences on the council’s website had by yesterday received 93 messages for the Labour Councillor, who represented Failsworth East from 2004-8, and from 2010.
Former councillor Dilys Fletcher said: “My dearest friend, my rock of support in difficult times past and present. I will miss you so much. Ain’t no sunshine now your gone. Loved you.”
John Meagher, head teacher at Failsworth School, said: “It has been an honour and pleasure to work with Barbara. She has been a trusted confidante and adviser and more importantly, a good friend of both myself and the school.
“Barbara was always willing to give her time and go the extra mile to help others.”
Mrs Dawson, a former childminder, was cabinet member for co-operatives and community development. She was also chairman of governors at Failsworth School.
