FITTING tribute . . . Chris McManus
FOOTBALL fans will celebrate the life of murdered Royton hostage Chris McManus at a memorial game at Boundary Park.
Latics legend David Eyres and former Preston midfielder Lee Cartwright will captain teams made up of the 28-year-old’s family and friends.
Chris, a lifelong Latics fan, was killed on March 8 after being taken hostage in Birnin Kebbi, Nigeria in May, 2011.
The Match 4 Mac takes place on Thursday, May 17, kick off 7pm.
Entry is £5 on the door and there will be a raffle draw at half time with all money raised going to Amnesty International.
Players will wear special Latics shirts — each with Mac on the back — for the match. Shirts worn by David Eyres and Lee Cartwright will be raffled off.
