FLYING entrance: Chris and Nicola arrive by helicopter.
NEWLYWEDS Chris Harvey and Nicola Formstone know how to make a dramatic entrance.
The childhood sweethearts’ wedding took off in style when they flew in by helicopter to meet their guests at Saddleworth Golf Club.
A military guard of honour greeted the delighted pair with an arch of swords - and handfuls of confetti.
Army warrant officer Chris (40) and his bride (39), both from Saddleworth, went all-out for their military-style big day.
Nicola laughed: “We thought it would be a nice touch to have a military-style wedding and flying in the helicopter was the icing on the cake.”
The couple, who have known each other since their schooldays at Saddleworth School, went their separate ways at 16.
More than two decades later they were reunited through social networking site Facebook - after Chris had served tours all over the world with the Royal Horse Artillery.
Nicola, who has daughter Rebecca (13), and Chris, who also has a daughter Georgina (7), were married at Freizland Christ Church on Saturday.
