Rapes, child trafficking, despicable crimes

The nine men found guilty are:
::The man regarded as the ringleader was 59 but cannot be named for legal reasons.

He was found guilty of conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with children under the age of 16, two counts of rape, aiding and abetting a rape, one count of sexual assault and an allegation of trafficking for sexual exploitation.

The man, from Oldham, used the older girl, referred to in the trial as “the Honeymonster”, to procure young white girls for him and his friends. He was separated from his wife in 2000 and has grown up children. During the trial he accused his victims of being “prostitutes” with enough business acumen to “win The Apprentice”.



::Kabeer Hassan (25) of Lacrosse Avenue, Oldham, was found guilty of conspiracy and rape.

He was known to the girls as “Immy”. Hassan, who is married and lives with his parents, worked at the Tasty Bites and then the Balti House takeaways. The 59–year–old ordered the first victim to have sex with Hassan as a “treat” for his birthday. He raped the girl, who was then aged 15.



::Taxi driver Abdul Aziz (41), of Armstrong Hurst Close, Rochdale, was found guilty of conspiracy and trafficking for sexual exploitation but cleared of two counts of rape.

Married, the father–of– three took over from the 59–year–old as the main trafficker of the girls. Working with the Honeymonster, he was paid by various men to supply girls for sex. He was known by the nicknames: “Tariq”, “Car 40” and “Master”.



::Adil Khan (42), of Oswald Street, Rochdale, was found guilty of conspiracy and trafficking for sexual exploitation. Khan, married with one child, was known as “Billy” to the girls and fathered the child of a 13–year–old victim who believed she was in love with him.

The child was aborted and Khan denied knowing the girl until police presented him with DNA evidence that proved the child was his.



::Abdul Rauf (43), of Darley Road, Rochdale, was found guilty of conspiracy and trafficking for sexual exploitation. He was a taxi driver known by the nicknames “Castleton” and “Cassie”. A married father–of–five, he asked a 15–year–victim if she had any younger friends and would drive some of the girls to other men who would use them for sex, despite knowing they were under age.



::Mohammed Sajid (35), of Jepheys Street, Rochdale, was found guilty of conspiracy, trafficking, one count of rape and one count of sexual activity with a child. He was known as “Saj” would regularly ply girls with alcohol before having sex with them at his flat, where groups of men would gather and “pass round” the girls.



::Abdul Qayyum (43), of Ramsay Street, Rochdale, was found guilty of conspiracy. He was a taxi driver known as “Tiger”. He is married with two children. Two Rochdale councillors sent character references to the trial describing him as “hard working” and “proud” to have him in their community.



:: Taxi driver Mohammed Amin (44). of Falinge Road, Rochdale, was found guilty of conspiracy and sexual assault.

He was known as “Car Zero” and is married with school aged children.



::Illegal immigrant Hamid Safi (22), was found guilty of conspiracy and trafficking but cleared of two counts of rape. He sneaked into the UK on a lorry in 2008. He was released from a detention centre in Birmingham in March, 2009 and moved to Rochdale.
