Film aims to reel in funding

OLDHAM College students have created a film they hope will help to scoop a share of £1 million to rejuvenate the town centre.
The two minute video has been produced as part of Oldham Council’s bid to become a Portas Pilot scheme. Twelve towns will receive a £100,000 shot in the arm for their struggling high street, as well as advice form retail guru Mary Portas. It follows her review into town centre problems.
The film features students talking about what they want in their town centre, including Rowena Kelly who said: “I want our voice to be heard, so it was great that our thoughts and ideas were at the heart of the town’s submission.”
The film can be seen at www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lSV1GRYh3c.
