Body mummified

POLICE found the mummified body of a man when they investigated reports of a strange smell in Rountree House, Oldham.

An inquest heard Michael Criton Grime (46) was found in the bathroom of his home last November.

Police believe the badly-decomposed body could have been there for several weeks. Family members said they had not seen him since 2010.

Coroner Michael Salt recorded an open verdict as he said he could not be sure whether the death was accidental or not.
