Detectives want to see this man in connection with the knife slashing
DETECTIVES have issued a computer-generated image of a thug who stabbed a man in the face with a knife.
Police were called to Yorkshire Street in Oldham Town Centre at 1.15pm on November 22 last year.
The 27-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment to a fractured eye socket and damage to the eye itself.
The victim’s sight remains affected and he is due to undergo further surgery.
Officers say that despite a thorough investigation, including forensic analysis and a comprehensive trawl of CCTV, the offender remains outstanding. It is believed an incident near the Number 15 pub sparked the attack.
Det-Con Mike Patterson, of Oldham CD, said: “Months on from this incident and the victim’s eyesight and future quality of life remain in the balance.
“Despite a thorough investigation into this incident the offender remains at large and I want the public’s to help identify him.
“The victim has helped us develop a life-like digital image of the offender and if anyone recognises someone from this I would ask them to please get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161- 856 8951 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555 111.
