OLDHAM Coliseum has been awarded £150,000 to help it attract more donations and funding.
It is one of 19 theatres, art galleries and music projects in the North-West which have received a slice of £3,308,632 from Arts Council England.
The money from the Catalyst Arts scheme aims to secure the long-term future of arts organisations by encouraging them to develop new ways of fundraising.
Coliseum executive director David Martin said: “This is yet another testament to the confidence that the Arts Council has in the theatre and its appreciation of our work in Oldham.
“The Coliseum Theatre is a registered charity and this grant has been made to increase our attractiveness to philanthropic donors. We have a proven track record in working with trusts and foundations who regularly support our work.
“We are also very grateful to the many individuals who have donated money directly to the Coliseum as part of our 125th Anniversary Appeal.”
