Raising a glass to raise roof
Date published: 22 May 2012
It’s bottoms up at Oldham Rugby Union Club this weekend, as they celebrate their very own Beer Festival.
On Friday, expert beer tasters from across the town will be sampling a wide selection of quality ales. Doors open at 7.30pm.
It’s a game of two halves on Saturday, the team has a league match, and then the Over 35s play Under 25s, followed by a reunion of ex-Oldham Rugby Union Football club players.
Later in the evening, along with further beer tasting, a barbecue will be taking place and live band, Jog The Memory will be performing.
The festival closes on Sunday, doors open at noon.
All money raised will go towards the cost of replacing the club’s roof, which was damaged during heavy rain and violent winds last November.
For more information, contact Steve Tyrell, junior chairman at the club on Bardsley Road, on 07984 454 458.
