£5,370 extra for leader
Date published: 25 May 2012
A review of Oldham Council members’ allowances has made recommendations to increase council leader Jim McMahon’s amount by £5,370.
The Independent Remuneration Panel, which makes the recommendations every year, has made the suggestion after looking at the extra demands Councillor McMahon has taken on, involving work with the Association for Greater Manchester Authorities.
However, the money will be seen as a separate element from the Special Responsibility Allowances.
It would see Councillor McMahon receive an allowance of £32,220 for the municipal year.
Councillor McMahon was also re-elected as executive leader of the council.
