In the dark

NINETEEN homes in Hathershaw were left without electricity for almost two days.
They lost all power at 8.20pm on Monday and the supply didn’t come back on for at least 42 hours — with everyone restored by late Wednesday evening.
The fault was in an underground cable.
Electricity North West said that it had hand-delivered cards to all of the affected houses, explaining that those who had been without power for over 18 hours could claim compensation of up to £120.
