THE “Royal Rover” Minibus Appeal has reached the two-thirds mark.
An ambitious £30,000 appeal launched by the Royal Oldham Hospital League of Friends has struggled along in a difficult economic climate. But dedicated fundraisers have now brought in £20,000 with scores of moneymaking events.
Fundraisers are now under pressure to bring in the rest of the money as quickly as possible — the current bus, used to ferry people around the vast hospital site, is in danger of final breakdown at any time.
Rose Hall, League of Friends secretary, said: “We have now reached £20,000. We are now on the last push and getting very close to attaining the magical £30k. If anyone would like to stage a fundraiser for us we would like to hear from them.”
Contact Rose on 0161 652 1049 for information. Donations can be made by cheque made out to ROH League of Friends (RR). Send to ROH League of Friends, c/o Royal Oldham Hospital, Rochdale Road, Oldham, OL2 2JH.
