Rock music, classical compositions and choir pieces: you name it, Oldham had it this week as more than 3,000 youngsters gathered at Oldham’s Queen Elizabeth Hall for the annual Oldham Schools’ Music Festival.
Organised by Oldham Music Service, the week-long festival attracted pupils from primary and secondary schools and academies from across the borough.
Martin Evans, deputy director for music in Oldham, said: “It’s a non-competitive event and the whole spectrum of music was covered. It was a perfect opportunity for children to perform and an opportunity for them to listen.”
