MP’s delight at firm’s expansion

Oldham MP Michael Meacher has met the firm moving to the vacated Chadderton home of BAE, to offer help in maximising employment.
Last month the Chronicle revealed pump manufacturer NOV Mono is planning a major expansion that will see it move to the empty Greengate site, potentially bringing up to 1,000 jobs to the borough.
The internationally-recognised firm is moving from its current base in Audenshaw to the larger site as part of a £20 million expansion project.
After meeting directors and staff to offer his support, the Oldham West and Royton MP said: “This is a very exciting prospect with the potential to create a thousand new jobs, many of them highly-skilled engineering jobs. I am keen to explore NOV Mono’s expansion plans and how I might be able to assist them.
“It was extremely sad when British Aerospace announced its closure and it is great to see this sort of company coming to Oldham.”
