Mark Marsden with girl friend Natalie before his fall in Bulgaria
A family is stranded abroad, desperately seeking help after a man fell from a hotel balcony and suffered a brain haemorrhage.
Mark Marsden was on holiday with his girl friend Natalie Morton and their two children when he fell from the first-floor balcony. As well as the brain injury he broke his pelvis and leg and suffered a collapsed lung.
He is now in hospital but the family are struggling with a language barrier and are desperate to get Mark back to Oldham so he can get urgent care in an English hospital.
Mark (43) had travelled abroad with Natalie, their two daughters, Kacey (8) and Kara (3), Natalie’s mum Yvonne Morton and her brother Lee Morton. They were at the Sun Palace hotel on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria.
After enjoying a family meal he returmed to the room and was found shortly afterwards on ground below the room’s balcony. He was rushed to hospital
Natalie’s brother, Carl Morton, is now rallying support for the couple back home in Fitton Hill.
Carl said: “They are struggling because there’s a language barrier. There’s a holiday rep out there passing on messages, but Natalie is distraught.”
